Bali Airport Transfer: My Trip.com Pickup Experience

Wondering how to get from Bali Airport to your hotel?

Since there’s no convenient public transportation from the airport, most travelers rely on a car to get to areas like Canggu, Ubud, or Uluwatu.

On my first trip to Bali, I arrived late at night and booked an airport pickup in advance through Trip.com.

Here’s how it went, how the price compared with other options, and a few things I’d recommend knowing before you book.

💨 Getting from Bali Airport
to Your Hotel

There are three common ways to get from Bali Airport to your hotel:

1. Grab or Gojek
2. Airport taxi
3. Pre-booked airport transfer

Grab and Gojek are convenient because you can request a ride through the app and check the fare beforehand. However, prices can change depending on demand and time of day, and getting a ride may take longer late at night.

Airport taxis are available when you arrive, but prices can vary and you may need to agree on the fare.

A pre-booked airport transfer gives you a confirmed pickup and price before you arrive, which was especially convenient for my late-night flight.

The main reason I chose Trip.com was the price.

It was cheaper than the Grab and Gojek fares I checked at the time, so the choice was pretty easy.

Prices can change depending on your travel date, arrival time, and destination, so I’d compare the options before booking.

Booking was simple. I entered my flight details when making the reservation, and the transfer was linked to my flight.

My booking was confirmed quickly, and I could check the details through the app. My booking also included free cancellation and driver waiting time after the flight arrived.

One feature turned out to be especially useful: the arrival time automatically updated when my flight was delayed.

My flight was actually delayed that night, but I didn’t need to contact the driver separately to change the pickup time.

Before my flight, the app showed my vehicle and driver details along with instructions for where to meet the driver.

The driver arrived before the scheduled pickup time and contacted me through WhatsApp. Once we found each other, I was able to leave for my hotel right away.

❗One thing to keep in mind is that the pickup area can be a little confusing if it’s your first time at Bali Airport.

There were plenty of other drivers waiting for passengers, so the area felt quite busy when I arrived.

I’d recommend reading the pickup instructions before your flight and saving a screenshot on your phone so you can find the meeting point easily after landing.

I was traveling alone, but the car I was assigned was spacious enough for several passengers and had plenty of room for my luggage.

The interior was clean as well.

Since this was my first trip to Bali and I was arriving late at night, I had been a little worried about getting from the airport to my hotel.

Having the ride booked in advance made the whole arrival much easier. Once I met the driver, I could just get in the car and head straight to Canggu.

🛫 You Can Also Book a Transfer Back to Bali Airport

Airport transfers work both ways, so you can also pre-book a ride from your hotel back to Bali Airport.

This can be useful if you’re staying farther away, especially in places like Canggu or Ubud, or if you have a lot of luggage.

Trip.com offers both airport pickup and drop-off, so you can arrange your return ride in advance based on your hotel and flight details.

Just make sure to leave enough time for Bali traffic when heading back to the airport.
